In 1979 Prof. Miyoshi started building a model of the legendary “Seeadler,” this work took him about two years. Now he donated the model, and we have a new treasure for our society. Thanks to the perfect work of Prof. Miyoshi in packing the ship in a wooden box and of the mail service in handling the box obviously with care the “Seeadler” made its final trip to us and arrived yesterday safely here in Halle having a good resting place.

von Luckner's role
Count von Luckner played an important role in saving his home town, Halle, from being completely destroyed in 1945.

Biography
Count von Luckner played a very positive role in saving many thousands of lives and the city of Halle; he risked much, and he succeeded. That was just one event in an extraordinary life.

Memorial to Douglas Page
von Luckner sunk 14 ships as a merchant raider in WW1. He tried to save the lives of his enemies, successfully with one exception. It is written in the biography as follows:

...only one seaman (the freighter "Horngarth" from Cardiff) died after having
injured by hot water caused by a leak in a steam pipe. This damage was
caused by a shell of the "SEEADLER".

The seaman was Douglas Page.
